Katherine Massopust is a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy, NJ. She is a fourth-generation resident (on her mother’s side) and her father’s side of the family has resided in Perth Amboy since the Civil War. Ms. Massopust earned a master’s degree in applied physics from Appalachian State University, Boone, NC in 1992 and a bachelor’s degree in physics and mathematics from Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA. in 1989. Ms. Massopust is the author of Stories From Perth Amboy from The History Press and co-author with her husband, Paul W. Wang, of Then and Now: Perth Amboy from Arcadia Publishing. She is the founding President of Friends of Perth Amboy Free Public Library and is a trustee in the Kearny Cottage
Historical Association. Ms. Massopust performed multiple duties in The Amboy Guardian Newspaper (2011-2022) serving as Assistant Editor, Writer, Layout, and sometimes Photographer and Ad Designer for 12 years.

 

In July 2023, Katherine launched the Amboy Bayside News. A non-traditional journalist, Katherine brings a unique perspective to the paper.
Katherine enjoys swimming, softball, watching baseball (Avid NY Mets Fan), reading and writing.
